What is a bulletproof vest?
A bulletproof vest, also called a ballistic vest, security vest or body armor, is designed to stop or slow down projectiles from firearms. The vest absorbs kinetic energy from the projectile and spreads it over a large area, reducing the penetrating force to below a life-threatening level.
The user will typically feel a strong impact against the body but avoids the life-threatening penetration of vital organs. Modern professional vests are designed to minimize the pressure and force transferred to the body upon impact.
What is a Stab Proof Vest?
A stab proof vest is designed to protect against penetration from sharp objects: knives, stilettos, screwdrivers and broken bottles. The threat from a stab differs fundamentally from a bullet: a stab is a slow, concentrated force that requires a dense, rigid material to be stopped.
A purely ballistic vest is not necessarily effective against stabs. Conversely, a stab proof vest will not stop a projectile either. A combination vest is the right solution if your work situation involves risk of both types of attack.

Concealable or Tactical Vest?

Overt vest (visible tactical)
Worn over the uniform. Thicker and more robust with the option for MOLLE accessories such as pockets, holders and extra equipment. Suitable for uniformed tactical units and security guards in visible service.

A light carrier mounted with hard ceramic or steel plates front and back. Provides Level III-IV protection against rifles and armor-piercing projectiles. Primarily for military and tactical use.

What is inside a bulletproof vest?

Can you wear a bulletproof vest all day?

Can you wash a bulletproof vest?
The ballistic and stab-resistant panels must never be machine washed as it degrades the material's protective properties. The outer carriers can in most cases be washed separately at low temperature. Always check the specific instructions for your model.
Is a bulletproof vest also stab proof?
No. A purely ballistic vest is constructed to handle high velocities and large kinetic energy. It is not necessarily effective against the slow, precise force of a knife stab. A combination vest is specified for both threats and is the right solution if your work situation involves risk of both types of attack.
What is the difference between Twaron and Dyneema?
