The Range Belt D-Ring Cobra Buckle Gen.IV is two-part and consists of an inner and outer (stiff) belt with size adjustment options. The inner belt is made of thin webbing (40 mm) with outer Velcro, adjustable with a WJ buckle for fixation and anti-slip. The outer belt consists of nylon straps (50 mm), between which a high-tech thermoplastic composite Tegris is sewn, providing stiffness. The revolutionary material Tegris from Milliken® (USA) weighs less than traditional thermoplastic composites but can withstand significant loads.
The inside features plastic Velcro hooks for fixation with the inner belt. Thanks to its rigid construction, a properly adjusted belt will not slip or fall during physical activity or in combat conditions. The MOLLE interface allows for the attachment of necessary equipment to the belt. The belt closes with a 25 mm Cobra buckle from the Austrian manufacturer Austrialpin. The product is resistant to friction, mechanical stress, and remains reliable even under extreme conditions. A quality belt will maintain its appearance for a long time without wear marks, folds, or other damage.
The AustriAlpin Cobra buckle is a high-strength, functional, and very reliable buckle with a patented AustriAlpin COBRA™ lock. The COBRA system is protected against accidental opening under load and is used in high-quality climbing and military gear. All buckles are Mil Spec tested and certified for exposure to sand, dust, and seawater, and comply with CE, EN, CSA, ANSI, and NFPA standards. The unique design of the lock ensures a high degree of reliability, safety, and durability. All COBRA buckles are made of high-strength aluminum alloy class 7075, while the components are made of solid brass and stainless steel.
Camouflage "MULTICAM" was developed by the American company Crye Precision in collaboration with the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, known as U.S. Army Natick Labs. The development of the MULTICAM pattern took over eight years of expeditions, scientific research, data analysis, and practical field tests, and it was designed as a universal camouflage solution for the U.S. Army. The need for a new camouflage became evident after Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, where existing patterns like Woodland and Tri-Color Desert did not provide adequate concealment. Even with the introduction of digital universal camouflage during operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, the situation did not significantly improve. It became clear that a single universal pattern was necessary, allowing soldiers to blend into any terrain and at any distance.
The MULTICAM pattern works by exploiting the limitations of human vision and the structure of the eye. At long distances, the camouflage consists of large, blurred patches, while small, rounded elements are used up close, especially against backgrounds of vegetation. The developers found that dominant backgrounds worldwide share similar shades of green and brown. An important discovery was that black, often used in camouflage patterns, does not actually exist in nature. By integrating their findings and conducting computer simulations of over a thousand images, they succeeded in creating the MULTICAM pattern.
Near Infrared (NIR) technology is used by the U.S. Department of Defense to minimize detection by NIR electro-optical sensors. NIR uniforms are made from a special fabric that helps soldiers maintain a temperature similar to the surroundings, making them harder to detect. Additionally, NIR technology reduces light reflection, making the uniforms less visible under low lighting.
