EA Single Curved Trauma Plate III ICW (AL2O3) is a single curved ceramic plate for mounting in bulletproof vests. It weighs 1.8 kg, provides increased comfort, and has been tested against AK47, among others.

Trauma plate for mounting on the front and back of bulletproof vests

EA Single Curved Trauma Plate III ICW (AL2O3) is designed for the Impact and Xtreme models – our bullet- and stab-resistant vests, which you can find here. The plate consists of a high-density ceramic core of aluminum oxide (Al2O3), supported by a layered polymer composite fiber. It has been tested against, among other things, AK47 – see further details about the test below.

This trauma plate has a single curved shape, meaning it comes as one unit, ready for easy insertion into the vest. The curved design offers improved fit and increased comfort as the plate follows the natural contours of the body.

ICW (In Conjunction With) means that the trauma plate must be used together with soft body armor at level IIIA to achieve the specified protection level. The weight of the plate is 1.8 kg.

The trauma plate has been tested against the following threats:

  • Tested against 6 shots from 7.62*39mm AK47 MSC with rounds weighing 7.7g and impact at 740m/s4 according to NIJ std 0101.06 and 5.56x45 NATO according to international tests
  • 7.62x51 NATO, M80 (NIJ level 3 0101.06)
  • 7.62x39 MSC, AK47 (NIJ level 3 0101.06)
